Excel export and import for Price Decks
Note: Security permissions can be applied to individual global price decks, and separate permissions can be applied to the price groups within decks. These permissions will control how price deck information can be imported and exported. See Permissions for price decks and price groups.
Note: For export/import of price deck data using 'XEFL' files, intended for copying price decks between Planning Space tenants, see Export or Import price decks.
Using export and import with Excel files you can modify price decks in an external spreadsheet application then import the modified data back into Planning Space. Note that you can only modify existing data by importing, you can't directly create a new price deck.
Export price deck data to an Excel file
Select a price deck in the Price Decks list, then in the Price Management tab on the ribbon click the arrow below the Export ribbon button and select Export to Excel from the menu.
In the Export Price Deck to Excel dialog select the required Revision and click OK. You can choose a download location and filename in the File Explorer dialog. The export process runs as a task that you can monitor in the Task Notification tool, and check the task log.
The exported XSLX file contains a worksheet for each price scenario, and an additional sheet which lists the scenario names with a link to the corresponding sheet. There is a limit of 31 characters for sheet names, in case of long scenario names you can use these links to find the required worksheet.
Import price deck data from an Excel file
Select a price deck in the Price Decks list, this will be the destination for the data import. Then in the Price Management tab on the ribbon click the arrow below the Import ribbon button and select Import from Excel from the menu. In the file explorer dialog, select the XSLX file which will be the data source.
The import process runs as a task that you can monitor in the Task Notification tool, and check the task log.
The imported data is validated and the import will be cancelled if invalid data is found. Details are included in the task log.
